Canada’s Express Entry system is an electronic system used to manage the intake of skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada. It is a popular and efficient way for skilled workers to apply for Canadian permanent residency. The system is designed to identify skilled workers who are most likely to succeed in the Canadian economy and provide them with a pathway to permanent residency.

There are three main programs under the Express Entry system that you can apply for:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently. To be eligible, you must have at least one year of skilled work experience in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A, or B occupation, meet the language requirements in English or French, and have a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report.

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): This program is for skilled tradespeople who want to immigrate to Canada permanently. To be eligible, you must have at least two years of work experience in a skilled trade in the past five years, meet the language requirements in English or French, and have a valid job offer or a certificate of qualification from a Canadian province or territory.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC): This program is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. To be eligible, you must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada in the past three years, meet the language requirements in English or French, and have gained your work experience legally.

To apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system, you must first create an online profile through the Government of Canada’s website. The profile will include information about your work experience, education, language proficiency, and other personal details. Based on this information, you will receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which will be used to rank you against other candidates in the Express Entry pool.

If you meet the eligibility requirements for one of the three programs and have a high enough CRS score, you will be entered into regular draws to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. If you receive an ITA, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency, which will be reviewed by the Canadian government. If your application is approved, you will be granted permanent residency status in Canada.
