Portugal is one of the oldest nation in the Europe, it is located on the Iberian Peninsula on the southwestern Europe. Portugal total population is the around 10.33 million(2021). Portugal Capital and largest city is Lisbon. Portugal is become the part on Schengen Area in 1995. Portugal is famous for tourism and farming.

Portugal Government introduced a Job Seeker visa for foreign nationals on October 31st 2022. According to the Portugal Government, they introduce this visa to reduce the Labor shortage in the country.

Portugal Job Seeker Visa Validity

This visa is granted for 120 days and this visa can be renewed for an additional 60-day period. The person who is interested to work in Portugal or looking for Permanent residence, this is the good option for him.

With the help of this Visa he is eligible to find a job in Portugal and later on he is also eligible to apply for Temporary Residence Card. If he meet the requirement to apply for TRC.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor Degree ( There is no specification education is required )
  • Health Insurance
  • Evidence of having sufficient funds
  • Evidence of having booked accomodation in Portuhal
  • No IELTS requirement
  • Not based on points
  • Authenticated airplane reservations

Documents for Visa Application

  • National visa application form fully completed and signed by the applicant
  • 2 Passport type photograph must be in good condition
  • Passport or any other valid document i.e. at least valid for 6 months
  • Travel Insurance
  • Request for consultation of the Portuguese’s criminal record by the Foreigners and Borders Service
  • Proof of financial Resources
  • CV
  • Education and Experience documents

Application Fee

You have to pay more than one fee when applying for a Portugal Job Seeker Visa.

  • Visa Fee 90 Euro
  • Skilled Worker residence permit (SEF) fee – 83 Euro
  • To get the work’s residence permit from the SEF – 72 Euro

Specific Document

  • Declaration indicating the conditions for the expected stay

After submitting the IEFP form online you can take the appointment in embassy for further visa processing.

Processing Time

Embassy takes approximately 2 months time to process this visa. Depend on the situation.
